Real World and Dreams

I have found myself getting completely lost in my mind recently.. and I am okay with it. I am at the point in my life where there are a lot of things to think about, so I let my mind wander. Never have I considered myself to be a daydreamer, but it is so magical to get lost in my own thoughts. I can process, challenge, create. Think about all of the successful people in the world: they are the daydreamers. They dream, and they bring their thoughts to life. Innovation stems from our own thoughts, our own dreams. Those that really think about the world are the ones that take advantage of it; or at least that is what I believe. I have found my curiosity flowing towards thinking about the world as a whole. What is it? What are we? One of my favorite artists, John Mayer, once melodiously noted, “I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world, just a lie you have to rise above.” Well, what is the real world anyway? It is just something that we craft and invent through social construction. We are the “real world.” We create the “real world.” We do not have to be anyone. We do not have to do anything. If you think about it, there is no real anything. We make it all up. Getting lost in our thoughts allows us to create our own world that is real to us: without constraint, without judgment, without rules. In our minds, we may be free. Free to dream, to create, to love, to ponder, to wander, to bloom, to be.

(PS: this is me thinking out loud. and i am kinda wondering if my strange/deep/weird/metaphysical blogs makes sense to others, so feel free to give feedback!)
